Privacy when conversations become intimate
A private conversation can still be copied or shared. Decide what you are comfortable disclosing before a chat becomes personal, and respect the other person's choices too.
Share personal details gradually
Your full address, workplace, daily routine and financial information are not necessary to express attraction. Keep early conversations on the service if that suits you and review the privacy options it actually provides. Do not assume a dating platform or disappearing message can prevent screenshots or redistribution.
Treat images as a separate decision
Ask before sending intimate material and accept a refusal. Nobody owes you a photo, even if you have already sent one. Consider whether an image contains identifying details and whether you would still feel comfortable if control over it were lost. Do not forward someone else's private content.
Respond to pressure by stepping back
Requests for money, threats to publish material or demands for more images deserve a pause, not compliance. Preserve relevant evidence if necessary and use the service's reporting options or seek appropriate local help. Do not promise yourself that sending one more image will settle a threatening exchange.
