Looking for casual sex: explain what you want
Wanting sex without a committed relationship is a valid preference. The useful starting point is explaining what casual means to you, rather than assuming everyone shares the same definition.
Replace labels with concrete expectations
One person may want a single meeting, another an ongoing connection without exclusivity. Say whether you are open to seeing someone again, how much contact you enjoy between dates and whether romance is part of what you seek. You do not need to predict the future, but do avoid implying a relationship simply to secure a meeting.
Start the conversation without making a demand
Try: ‘I am interested in something casual, with good communication. What are you looking for?’ Leave space for a different answer. If the other person wants commitment, do not treat that as an invitation to persuade them. Compatibility includes expectations as well as attraction.
Revisit the agreement when circumstances change
An arrangement that felt comfortable last month may feel different now. Ask whether the current pace still works for both people, especially before assuming exclusivity or repeat meetings. Either person can step back. Paying for a date, exchanging messages or meeting previously creates no obligation to have sex.
